Custom Booklet Printing Services in Malaysia

A well-printed booklet does something a digital file cannot. It stays on the desk, gets passed around the meeting room, and gets referred back to days or weeks later. When a client picks up your catalogue, annual report, or event programme and it feels substantial in their hands, that physical quality reflects directly on your brand before they have read a single word.

At VSM Printing Group, we produce booklets for businesses that understand this. From corporate company profiles and product catalogues to event programmes and training manuals, every booklet we print is handled with the same attention to paper weight, colour accuracy, and binding quality that makes the difference between something people keep and something they discard.

Standard orders are completed within 5 to 7 working days from proof approval. Rush production is available for time-sensitive requirements.

What We Have Noticed About Booklet Printing

Most businesses focus entirely on the design and overlook two things that matter just as much: paper weight and binding choice. A beautifully designed catalogue printed on thin paper with weak saddle-stitch binding signals a low-budget brand even when the artwork is excellent. On the other hand, a 300gsm soft-touch matte cover with perfect binding makes even a modest design feel premium.

Before we quote any booklet job, we ask about its purpose and how it will be used. A training manual that gets handled daily needs a different build than a corporate profile handed out once at a pitch. Getting this right at the start saves money and produces a better result.

Types of Booklets We Print

  • Corporate Profiles and Annual Reports
Your company profile is often the first physical material a potential client or investor holds. We produce corporate booklets on heavyweight stocks with premium cover finishing — soft-touch lamination, spot UV on the logo, and precise colour matching — so the quality of the print matches the quality of your business.

  • Product Catalogues
A product catalogue needs to work as a sales tool, not just a reference document. We advise on paper weight and image reproduction to ensure product photography looks sharp and accurate, and we produce catalogues in runs from 50 copies for boutique brands to thousands for retail and wholesale distribution.

  • Event Programmes and Conference Materials
Event programmes are handed out at the door and represent your brand at the moment guests arrive. We produce programmes for conferences, gala dinners, award ceremonies, and corporate events with fast turnaround times because we know these orders are almost always time-critical.

  • Training Manuals and Educational Booklets
Training materials get used repeatedly, flipped through, written in, and carried around. We recommend wire-o or spiral binding for training manuals so they lay flat when open, and heavier inner page stocks for durability. We print for corporate training programmes, certification bodies, schools, and private education providers.

  • Promotional Brochures and Marketing Booklets
For product launches, trade exhibitions, and direct marketing campaigns, a promotional booklet gives your audience something to take away and revisit. We produce these in a range of sizes and finishes, from simple A5 saddle-stitch brochures to thick A4 perfect-bound marketing packs.

  • Menus and Hospitality Booklets
Menus and hospitality guides need to survive regular handling while still looking polished. We produce these for restaurants, hotels, resorts, and catering businesses with lamination options that protect against moisture and surface wear.

How We Handle Your Booklet Order

We keep the process straightforward and keep you informed at every stage:

  • Step 1: We talk through your requirements
Tell us the purpose of the booklet, who will receive it, how it will be used, your quantity, and your deadline. From there we recommend the right format, paper weight, and binding — not the most expensive option, but the right one for what you need.

  • Step 2: Design and artwork preparation
If you have existing artwork, we check it is print-ready and flag anything that needs adjusting before it goes to press. If you need a booklet designed from scratch, our in-house team handles the full layout, cover design, and typography.

  • Step 3: Digital proof for your approval
We send a digital proof showing exactly how your booklet will look in print. Nothing goes to press until you have reviewed and approved every detail. This step exists to protect you from costly reprints.

  • Step 4: Printing
High-resolution offset printing for larger runs, digital printing for smaller quantities. Either way, colour accuracy and consistency across every copy is a non-negotiable part of how we work.

  • Step 5: Finishing and binding
Cover lamination, spot UV, and embossing are applied before the booklet is bound. We check the alignment and feel of the first finished copies before running the full batch.

  • Step 6: Quality check and delivery
Every batch is checked before it leaves our facility. We deliver to businesses across Peninsular Malaysia with standard lead times of 5 to 7 working days from proof approval.

A Kuala Lumpur-based property developer came to us two weeks before their residential launch with no finalised artwork and 1,500 copies needed. Our design team completed the full 48-page A4 catalogue in four days. We printed on 130gsm art paper with a 300gsm soft-touch matte cover, perfect-bound, and delivered to their sales gallery the morning of the launch event.

Frequently Asked Questions About Booklet Printing in Malaysia

Saddle-stitch binding uses two staples along the spine and is the most economical option, suitable for booklets up to around 64 pages. The booklet opens flat and is lightweight, making it ideal for event programmes and promotional brochures. Perfect binding uses a glued flat spine, gives the booklet a professional book-like appearance, and is suitable for thicker booklets of 48 pages and above such as company profiles and product catalogues. Perfect binding cannot be used for very thin booklets as the spine width needs sufficient pages to hold the glue.
Wire-o or spiral binding is generally best for training manuals and reference guides because the booklet lays completely flat when open, which makes it easier to read and write in during training sessions. Saddle-stitch and perfect binding force the spine to resist opening flat, which can be frustrating for materials that are used repeatedly.
For inner pages, 130gsm is a good balance between quality and cost for most corporate booklets and catalogues. If you want a more premium feel, 157gsm or 170gsm gives noticeably heavier pages. For event programmes and simpler promotional booklets, 105gsm or 115gsm is sufficient and keeps costs down. For covers, we recommend a minimum of 250gsm with lamination for durability.
The minimum is 8 pages for saddle-stitch booklets. Perfect binding requires a minimum of 48 pages to allow for a flat spine wide enough to hold the glue binding. Wire-o and spiral binding can accommodate a wide range of page counts.
We start from 50 units for most booklet formats. For very short runs of personalised or variable-data booklets, contact us as digital printing options may be available at lower quantities.
Standard orders take 5 to 7 working days from proof approval. If you have a tight deadline, tell us upfront and we will advise whether rush production is achievable. We handle many event-driven orders where timing is critical and we are experienced at working to hard deadlines.
Yes, and many clients do. Send us your files and we will check them against our print specifications and let you know if anything needs adjusting before we produce a proof. Common issues we flag include incorrect colour profiles, insufficient bleed, and low-resolution images — all of which are straightforward to fix before printing.
